Treasures from the remarkable Davies Collection, an extraordinary group of 19th- and 20th-century paintings renowned for its beauty, breadth and quality, will be exhibited at the Columbia Museum of Art March 6 through June 7, 2009. Turner to Cézanne: Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum of Wales features 53 remarkable works of art - on view for the first time in the United States. These works helped shape the course of Western art.
A collection of European old master paintings and 30 elegant galleries reside on the campus of Bob Jones University Museum in South Carolina's Upcountry. One of the state’s latest gallery openings features works by African-American artists housed in a restored Colonial mansion. Modern day theatrical artists take the stage in a restored 1900’s Opera House where vaudeville touring shows once played the "MidSouth Circuit."
